Bald Knob Cross, "the tallest cross in the western hemisphere above average terrain," was restored this summer and you were allowed to donate to the cause in return for going to the top before it was enclosed again. It was a pretty cool experience, but it was even cooler for the couple we saw get engaged at the top.
