Our first trip to the North Carolina coast- May 2007. Nick had finished exams that day and we figured at the last minute we would take a trip to the Outer Banks. Unfortunately, because of some rough seas, the ferry wasn't making crossings. The long drive (and back!) turned out to be a great opportunity to catch up on conversation lost during the spring semester and Beaumont got a brief opportunity to chase seagulls on the beach for the first time.
