Welcome family and friends to our new blog site! Sorry that there was such a lag between our last blog and this new one. As some of you may remember, our former blog site shut down and we had to find a new one to use. We wanted to keep it up as it has been fun for us and hopefully enjoyable for you all. Of course, the ideal scenario would be to live close enough to all of you so that sharing our life didn't have to take place over the internet.
During the process of transferring our pictures from the old blog, we were forced to literally look back on the past few years. In doing so, many emotions were evoked and a quote came to mind- "Life can only be understood backwards but must be lived forward." In our case, the life we have shared together seemed, up until sixteen months ago, easy to understand backwards and consequently, easy to live forward. Our simple lives clearly reflected shared dreams and our love for one another. However, February 28, 2008 happened. What followed was a string of surprising, incomprehensible events that robbed us of clarity and challenged our ability to move forward.
Still, we find ourselves struggling for answers and fumbling forward. To those who knew us before, we may not seem ourselves. However, we have been blessed with a bundle of joy which effectively interrupts our existential angst at least every few hours. In this way, perhaps Annabel will help us find our way back.
The following pictures are some highlights from the past three years (up until Annabel's birth-that will be in the next posting). Although, some major disappointments have taken the spotlight, as you can see, there will still be many happy memories that we will take with us when we eventually depart Durham.
Hey guys. I just wanted to let yall know that the new blog is great. I love all the pictures that you have put up so far. Keep them coming. Jaimee and I can't wait to see the trio at Christmas. Brad, get ready for "Polar Bear Swim Team 09." We love yall.
